ControlRad, Inc., technology will now be available on Siemens’ interventional imaging systems.
ControlRad, Inc., announced this week it has secured U.S. Food & Drug Administrationg 510(k) clearance for its ControlRad Select system designed to reduce unnecessary radiation exposure during fluoroscopically guided procedures.
This technology, which uses proprietary semi-transparent filters, a user-interface tablet, and image processing algorithms, retrofitted onto existint Siemens Artis zee interventional imaging systems, can reduce radiation dose by 85 percent for images captured in cath, interventional radiology, and electrophysiology labs, said ControlRad CEO Guillaume Bailliard.
