GE HealthCare Unveils 4D Dynamic PET Imaging Software at SNMMI Conference
Emphasizing the capability to evaluate the spatiotemporal distribution of PET radiotracers, the MIM KineticID software may provide greater quantitative insights into oncologic, cardiovascular and neurological disease management.
While conventional positron emission tomography (PET) in clinical practice commonly involves visual assessment of static images, an emerging PET software may redefine the role of PET in disease management.

Martin Huellner, MD, a senior physician and vice director of the Department of Nuclear Medicine at the Zurich University Hospital in Zurich, Switzerland, said the capability of MIM KineticID represents a significant advance across the realms of oncology, cardiology and neurology.

“Dynamic PET and kinetic modeling are transforming how we understand disease,” noted Dr. Huellner. “Instead of relying on a single moment in time, we can track how a tracer moves through the body and uncover what’s driving what we see, providing a far more accurate and meaningful picture of underlying biology.”
GE HealthCare noted that MIM KineticID is currently pending 510(k) clearance by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
