The Aquilion Prime 80 features the AIDR 3D dose reduction software.
Toshiba America Medical Systems Inc. has received FDA clearance for the latest in its Aquilion CT product line, the Aquilion Prime 80 series, the company announced Monday.
The system, which features their Adaptive Iterative Dose Reduction 3D software, can generate 80 unique slices per rotation and is designed with in-field upgradeability to 160 slices, the company said.
The Aquilion Prime features a 0.5 mm detector, a 7.5 MHU large-capacity tube and 0.35 second scanning. The system also includes a 78 cm aperture gantry and a 660-pound patient-weight-capacity couch. In addition to the AIDR 3D software, the system comes with Nema XR 25 Dose Check Software which includes dose alert and notification features.
