A new company has entered the PACS market with a medical image archive service designed to provide hospitals with a low-cost means of entering the digital age. The firm, Wam!Net Medical of Minneapolis, is offering healthcare facilities the ability to store their images off-site, yet still gain immediate access through online connectivity.
Under the company's program, a hospital's medical images are stored with Wam!Net's own archive, which has unlimited storage capacity. Facilities can access the images any time over a secure, high-speed file transfer network.
