Vital Images of Minneapolis has begun commercial shipments of Vitrea 1.0, the company's workstation for routine clinical 3-D viewing. Vitrea is based on a Silicon Graphics O2 workstation and enables users to conduct 2-D and 3-D viewing of MRI and CT images. Vital Images introduced Vitrea late last year (SCAN 10/23/96) and has a backlog of 20 systems.
