Problems can occur, Berlin said, when a radiologist has confusion over who to communicate the findings to, as well as in the subtleties of the findings. Communication pitfalls aren’t unique to any one institution or any one specialty, he said, but being aware of the problem is the first step in findings solutions.
Technology can play a key role in improving communication, but it depends on the situation and the organization.
