Vidar Systems of Herndon, VA, launched a new film digitizer at last month’s Society of Breast Imaging meeting in Boston. Vidar’s MammographyPro is designed for digitizing mammography films, and can enable users to perform such applications as remote primary diagnosis and computer assisted diagnosis. MammographyPro uses Vidar’s High Definition CCD (HD-CCD) technology, and features a spot size of 31 microns, as well as an optical density range of zero to 3.65. MammographyPro will be available this summer, and will list at approximately $20,000.

In other Vidar news, the company announced May 13 that it has established a supplier relationship with StorComm of Jacksonville, FL. Under the terms of the agreement, Vidar will supply StorComm with its HD-CCD digitizers DiagnosticPro and TeleRadPro for StorComm’s Clinical Image Management Systems. Also in May, Vidar signed an agreement with Meta Solutions of Linthicum, MD, in which Meta will include Vidar products in its teleradiology and PACS offerings.
