Radiologists across the country are still facing a tight job market. In fact, Patrick Moore, head of Smart Physician Recruiting, says this year has perhaps been the toughest in recent years for job-seekers in radiology.
The culprits, Moore explains, won’t surprise you: Radiologists reading more studies (thanks to increased efficiency and a desire to maintain income amidst lower reimbursement); practices wary to hire (again, reimbursement declines); physicians working more and taking fewer vacations (yep, reimbursements again), teleradiology and group consolidation has meant more layoffs than hires - just to name a few.
