Philips Medical Systems International and Camtronics Medical Systems have signed a strategic alliance to jointly develop cardiac image archiving and information management solutions. The resulting products will be marketed by Philips under its Inturis for Cardiology program.
Philips, of Best, the Netherlands, believes the alliance provides the opportunity to convert new and existing cardiac catheterization systems from film to digital image management, according to the company. For Camtronics, the agreement brings its Analogic subsidiary access to a worldwide distribution network through Philips. The deal will not impact any of the Hartland, WI-based company's existing supply agreements for its Archium image management products, according to Philips.
