MIDWAY, Utah and CLEVELAND, Feb. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Park City Solutions (PCS), the leading eHealth integration solution provider, announced today, the unveiling and planned launch of emPOWERnet:Referrals and Authorizations during HIMSS (Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society) annual conference and exhibition in Orlando, Florida -- February 22 - 26.

This commercially available product, which is based on the already successful emPOWERnet:Provider application integration technology, will enable a cost-effective solution that allows organizations to improve the physician referral and authorization process through a real-time enterprise (RTE) web solution.
"The workflow and prototype of this project has gone through a successful two year beta test. Park City Solutions plans to take the existing client server application and integrate it into emPOWERnet's real time enterprise web technology during 2004. This program will be available later this year for implementation. Park City Solutions invites all HIMSS attendees to view a demo of the product at the upcoming conference in Orlando," said Terry Pitts, CEO Park City Solutions.
Leveraging emPOWERnet technology, the Referrals and Authorizations application suite has been designed to improve the current physician referral process of paper-based and manual intensive workflow, involving countless paper transfer, fax and phone calls between hospitals, physician offices and payers.
Specifically, emPOWERnet:Referrals and Authorization will: * Provide referral management capabilities for providers. * Permit retrieval of authorization and referral information data through enterprise medical records. * Maintain accurate records on the number of approved, performed, scheduled, and remaining visits/services within an organization. * Allow users the ability to delegate R&A creation to other staff members with and without signature privileges. * Reduce manual labors involved in the paper-based referral process. * Reduce turn around time for patient response. * Reduce errors that can occur in hand-written forms. * Provide a real-time enterprise mechanism to notify physician offices with the patient's latest demographic and insurance information. * Integrate Master Member (Patient) Index search within emPOWERnet:Provider Portal.
"Harnessing Park City Solutions' emPOWERnet technology, organizations can solve their referral and authorization challenges by offering physician offices an electronic referral solution that automates the entire manual process. With PCS' comprehensive solutions and services, healthcare organizations are positioned to provide more flexibility to providers along with the immediate ability to integrate efficient management workflow processes. As the emPOWERnet solution continues to evolve, it is essential that we streamline the data exchange between affiliated hospitals, physicians and payers," said Terry Pitts.
"Park City Solutions' emPOWERnet technology provides cost-effective solutions that allow organizations to improve the patient care experience -- from registration to discharge and billing -- by ensuring referrals and authorizations are made quickly, accurately, and securely. Additionally, emPOWERnet Referrals and Authorization allows organizations to connect in the most cost-effective across their enterprise, helping them improve their bottom line," said Pitts.
