Mobile C-arm company OEC Medical Systems has purchased all of the remaining equity in Barwig Medical Systems, a German C-arm manufacturer. OEC, of Salt Lake City, had purchased a 19.8% stake in Barwig in 1995 (SCAN 7/6/95). Barwig has also been developing Series 7600, a sister product to Compact 7600 that is intended to be a low-end imaging system for orthopedic and needle-placement procedures. OEC has applied for 510(k) clearance for Series 7600 and hopes to make a U.S. introduction in late spring.
