Nortech expands into Asian markets

Monitor manufacturer Nortech Systems of Minneapolis, MN, has signed an exclusive distribution agreement with PACS software developer and distributor Rattan Computer of Taipei, Taiwan. Rattan will distribute Nortech's medical imaging monitors in Taiwan, Singapore, and Hong Kong. Shipments began last month under a one-year, renewable agreement. The product was initially installed at Chung-Shan Hospital in central Taiwan, where Rattan Computer configures its PACS software with Nortech's monitors. On that project, Hewlett-Packard's healthcare information business unit serves as prime contractor, responsible for hardware, software, installation, system support, and service.
