Fujifilm Medical Systems has introduced a stripped-down version of its Synapse PACS product for low-volume imaging facilities. Priced at $79,500, Synapse Simplicity is designed for facilities that already have DICOM-based modalities and handle up to 60,000 images annually. A complete Simplicity package includes diagnostic or clinical workstations, a PACS server, a DVD archive, and installation and integration services. Synapse Simplicity is Fujis third product designed for lower-volume customers looking to go filmless. The company introduced the SmartCR and the DryPix 1000 imager at last Novembers RSNA meeting.
