(Press Release) The company will demonstrate robust integrations of its technology with two key partners: Intelerad® Medical Systems and Poiesis Informatics.
M*Modal, the industry leader in advanced Speech Understanding™ technology, today announced that it will be showcasing how its technology platform supports the radiology industry at the Society for Imaging Informatics in Medicine (SIIM) 2011 Annual Meeting taking place from June 2-5 in Washington, D.C. The company will demonstrate robust integrations of its technology with two key partners: Intelerad® Medical Systems, a recognized leader in medical imaging PACS and distributed radiology solutions, and Poiesis Informatics, a developer of integrated healthcare IT workflow solutions. M*Modal will also be making an announcement at the show about its recent selection by Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center to adopt Speech Understanding as the platform to integrate with its radiology information system.
At the show, M*Modal will demonstrate how its Speech Understanding platform supports radiology departments as they take on a range of enterprise documentation, reporting and quality initiatives. With its ability to convert dictation into context-aware, structured content – fully indexed for the HL7 Clinical Document Architecture (CDA) standard and capable of driving clinical actions – the Speech Understanding technology provides an unmatched foundation to meet the growing pressures that radiology departments across the country face now and in the future.
M*Modal works with a wide variety of clinical documentation, RIS/PACS, EHR, and other software and service partners that leverage the company’s unique technology platform. Two of these partners’ applications will be shown at SIIM to reflect the various ways that radiology system companies are bringing significant reporting productivity and quality benefits to their customers. Intelerad will feature M*Modal’s Speech Understanding technology embedded into the Multi-Method Reporting™ Module of its PACS system. Poiesis will demonstrate how its reporting and clinical documentation solution, Fluency™, leverages M*Modal’s Speech Understanding technology to provide its PACS users with improved clinical documentation and reporting accuracy.
“At this year’s SIIM conference, we will once again demonstrate our commitment to the radiology community. We believe we have become the partner of choice for radiology system providers because we go beyond basic speech recognition and offer our partners the ability to create meaningful, actionable, shareable clinical documents,” said Don Fallati, Senior Vice President of Marketing, M*Modal. “That drives real short and long term value for their customers.”
Unlike commonly used speech recognition technologies, M*Modal’s Speech Understanding technology combines advanced speech and natural language understanding (NLU) technologies in one, unified platform. The results of this approach are superior speech recognition and automatic output - not simply of tagged data elements but also of highly meaningful information that drives medical action. The M*Modal platform is deployed as a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) model.
