PACS software developer MedPACS Displaysis bringing ACR-NEMA's DICOM 3.0 standard to the masses. The Hartland,WI, company has released MedPACS 100, a software package thatenables off-the-shelf PCs to receive, view and manipulate DICOM3.0 images.
The software is intended to be used as part of a primary diagnosticworkstation for MRI and CT images, either at scanner sites orat remote locations. MedPACS 100 features commands such as windowlevel, measure distance, region of interest and cine of imagesat up to 30 frames per second. Several different display modesallow real-time comparison of old and new MRI and CT studies.
The system's screen resolution is 1024 x 768 pixels in 250shades of gray. Images can be output to plain paper laser jetprinters or cameras. DICOM images may be received over Ethernet,ISDN, switched-56 or voice-grade phone lines at speeds as fastas eight seconds per image.
