SAN DIEGO, HIMSS Booth No. 1919, Feb. 10 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- StorageTek(R) and Rorke Data, a subsidiary of San Jose-based Bell Microproducts, Inc. have formed an alliance aimed at improving the medical industry's access to secure, scalable, open and flexible data storage solutions. Smaller-sized health care organizations with specialized HIS (hospital information systems) and RIS (radiology information systems) needs will now have easy access to centralized data through the comprehensive data storage solutions made available with this new health care industry alliance.
Through this alliance, StorageTek, the storage services and solutions expert, is extending its product offerings to a wider customer base within the Picture Archival Communications Systems (PACS), HIS, and RIS industry segments of the health care market. Rorke Data, which works with health care IT organizations to integrate departmental infrastructure with PACS, will now be able to provide health care organizations with a centralized data storage solution using StorageTek products. This relationship with Rorke Data underscores StorageTek's commitment to the health care community by offering storage solutions from a trusted company that has first-hand knowledge of the IT challenges facing health care organizations.
