McKesson debuts IT management tool
McKesson this week unveiled a new health information management (HIM) tool to centralize and simplify the electronic release of patient records. The company’s Horizon Patient Folder Release of Information, currently in beta trials but shown at the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) convention, is designed to help hospitals and medical practices increase efficiency and generate revenue. The software automates many of the manual steps associated with the release of patient information. As a result, medical administrators are able to manage the release of information themselves or significantly streamline their current process, creating the opportunity to generate new revenue streams, according to McKesson.
