PORTLAND, Ore., Feb. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Kryptiq Corp. will demonstrate the ability to make the connected healthcare system and Continuity of Care Record (CCR) initiative a reality today at the 2004 Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society
PORTLAND, Ore., Feb. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Kryptiq Corp. will demonstrate the ability to make the connected healthcare system and Continuity of Care Record (CCR) initiative a reality today at the 2004 Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) Conference. Taking place Feb. 23-26 in Orlando, Kryptiq will be unveiling new products and participating in the first combined HL7/IHE Interoperability demonstration during the show. The activities throughout HIMSS will showcase Kryptiq's ability to securely interface with existing healthcare information systems to enable complete communication from the provider to the patients to the payers, and improve overall productivity in the daily workflow of healthcare organizations.
"The need for secure, accessible technology solutions in the healthcare market that enable physicians and payers to improve quality of care and increase productivity in daily operations is critical," said Jim Klein, vice president and research director at Gartner Group. "This goal will require interoperable solutions that utilize pervasive technology such as e-mail to integrate existing systems, such as electronic medical records, and to streamline the way people in different organizations work together by allowing information to be shared easily wherever it is needed by processes spanning multiple organizations. Vendors that address this challenge will play a key role in the market and will help drive adoption of electronic health information systems by dramatically increasing the collaborative functions of such systems across the healthcare value chain."
Throughout HIMSS, Kryptiq will be unveiling the following new products and initiatives:
New Kryptiq products:
-- CareCatalyst(TM) is the first secure and interoperable physician office portal designed specifically to integrate with back-end clinical systems, such as G.E.'s Centricity(R) Physician Office EMR. CareCatalyst streamlines patient/clinic communications and give patients online access to personal health information, as well as 24-hour access to online services, including appointment scheduling, eVisits, bill payment, referral requests, and prescription renewals. The Web-based solution is aimed at strengthening physician-patient communication and optimizing the provider's workflow by helping physicians improve the portability of patient records, reduce clinic dependency on the phone, increase staff efficiency, improve speed and delivery of care to patients.
-- Guardian Contract Manager(TM) is the only modular contract management solution designed for managing the entire healthcare contract life-cycle. Guardian allows healthcare insurance companies to increase the visibility and accountability of corporate contracts by standardizing contractual language, clauses, terms, and fee schedules in a universal repository. Guardian provides users with powerful financial analysis and management tools to ensure compliance with corporate policies and federal legislation, as well as to facilitate the negotiation, maintenance, and renewal of all corporate contracts.
New Initiatives:
-- Continuity of Care Record (CCR) Becomes a Reality -- Kryptiq will be showcasing secure email and workflow technologies that enable the portability of patient health records across network boundaries and between health information systems (HIS) and electronic medical record (EMR) systems. As part of the HL7/IHE Interoperability Demonstration, Kryptiq will show how it enables the HL7 Continuity of Care Record (CCR) standard while maintaining access controls and audit trails of protected information. Kryptiq will demonstrate the ability to increase the portability of patient records by sending an electronic patient record from Epic's EMR to another site, and enabling it to be stored directly to a different EMR system. Kryptiq's technologies will allow secure transport of electronic health records (EHR) wherever they are needed. Demonstrations will feature an integrated EHR, including orders, results, images, medications and decision support; integration of healthcare documents with image generation, retrieval and document to image hypertext; access control with user authentication, single sign-on and audit trail; cross enterprise master patient index; and query display and synchronized patient view.
Market Significance
According to recent studies by Gartner Group, 2004 will bring significant change for the provider automation market. Healthcare information systems will be more-directly involved in the clinical care process than ever and will continue to extend in breadth and reach. Through 2008, 40 percent of HCOs will explore collaboration technologies to reduce costs by using IT services to improve their ability to meet the needs of care providers and care consumers.
Kryptiq will be providing product demonstrations, as well as additional information on its new relationships and initiatives, throughout HIMSS at the company booth (#4717) and at the HL7/IHE Interoperability Demonstration booth (#4638).
