Article

CHICAGO - Konica Minolta Medical Imaging announced at RSNA 2013 the launch of a hand-held, real-time ultrasound device for use at the point of care.

The Sonimage P3 allows clinicians to visually assess the patient efficiency and immediately for a rapid diagnosis, according to the company. The device can be carried or worn like a stethoscope for use at the point of care. It weighs less than 14 ounces and offers B-mode, M-mode, Doppler, and simple-to-access presets.

The device can be used as a stand-alone system or plugged into a Windows-based PC, laptop or tablet for a larger display. It also has a high resolution touchscreen, interchangeable transducers, and a 4GB data card.
