Breaking with its past dependence on phosphor-based computed radiography plates, Fujifilm featured a flat-panel digital radiography system at the RSNA 2008 meeting.
Breaking with its past dependence on phosphor-based computed radiography plates, Fujifilm featured a flat-panel digital radiography system at the RSNA 2008 meeting. The AcSelerate system, named for the amorphous selenium component of its new flat panel, features an automated table and upright system featuring lightweight components that are easier to position and operate than traditional systems. The flat panel translates x-rays directly into electrical signals for general radiography applications. Its thick layer of amorphous selenium provides high sensitivity, according to the company, which is positioning the system as able to render twice the detective quantum efficiency and modular transfer function of competing flat-panel systems.
