MRI developer Fonar announced last month that it received ordersfor 10 of its new Quad 12000 0.6-tesla scanners in its fourthfiscal quarter (end-June), which will bring in $12 million insales and anticipated service contracts. Fonar's sales for thequarter will be one of the highest totals in the company's history,the Melville, NY, vendor said.

Fonar also announced that a hearing has been scheduled forGE's appeal of a verdict awarding Fonar $68 million for patentinfringement claims related to MRI technology (SCAN 6/7/95). Oralarguments are scheduled to begin Oct. 8 in the U.S. Court of Appealsfor the Federal Circuit in Washington, DC.
