The FDA approved DICOM Grid’s cloud PACS and diagnostic viewer.
DICOM Grid announced yesterday FDA approval for their new cloud PACS and zero-footprint diagnostic viewer.
The cloud PACS includes new features for managing, viewing, and interpreting medical images, according to a release. “DG PACS allows medical groups and practices to manage medical images onsite and offsite using configurable workflow rules for routing, a robust modality work list, and integrated reporting tools.”
The PACS also provides mobile access from anywhere and full diagnostic teleradiology capabilities only requiring a web browser, the release said.
Among the new features mentioned in the release are:
• Viewing tools for annotating imaging studies
• Built-in meeting tool that provides live case review and consultation amongst physicians
• Hanging protocols and viewer customization
• 3D manipulation tools, which allow images to be scrolled through in each plane while reference lines move accordingly in other planes
DICOM Grid announced that its cloud PACS platform and 510(k) HTML 5, zero-footprint diagnostic viewer would eliminate the need for VPNS, CDs, and manual workflows. The PACS and viewer can be integrated into health information exchanges or “leading electronic health record systems,” the release said.
