Although consolidation of the fixed-site imaging center industry has stalled in the U.S., it continues to thrive north of the border. Fast-growing imaging center firm DC DiagnostiCare of Edmonton, Alberta, announced this month that it has acquired 37 medical imaging clinics, expanding the company's network by 65%.
The clinics offer services such as x-ray, ultrasound, mammography, fluoroscopy, and bone densitometry and bring in annual revenue of $12.5 million (Canadian). With the acquisition, DC DiagnostiCare now operates 94 clinics in Alberta, Manitoba, Ontario, and British Columbia.
