(Press Release) Fully Featured RIS Offers Voice Recognition, Critical Results Reporting
Carestream Health is now marketing a turnkey CARESTREAM Vue RIS with a rich set of features including embedded voice recognition and critical results reporting that help deliver a cost-effective and efficient workflow. This flexible RIS, which is designed to meet the changing needs of imaging centers including meaningful use initiatives, is now available in the United States.
“Our Vue RIS equips imaging centers to satisfy meaningful use requirements while achieving cost savings by reducing the need to purchase and integrate multiple third-party systems,” said Diana L. Nole, President, Digital Medical Solutions, Carestream Health. “Because the RIS easily interfaces with EMR and other information systems, it can present a holistic view of operational data to decision-makers, which can help imaging centers boost efficiency and revenue.”
The Vue RIS collects and/or tracks receipt of data that helps meet the first phase of meaningful use requirements including: structured patient demographics, vital signs, smoking status, immunization records, diseases, allergies and providing clinical decision support.
This new RIS also provides a standards-based electronic exchange of key clinical information. This makes it easier for imaging centers to receive data and to distribute imaging studies and radiology reports to referring physicians, hospitals and other healthcare providers.
Fully Featured Turnkey Solution Can Streamline Workflow
In addition to embedded voice recognition and critical results reporting, the RIS delivers centralized patient scheduling and management reports that track patient referrals by physician and modality reading by each radiologist. A native ACR peer review feature tracks reviews of an original diagnosis by a second radiologist and meets requirements set by the American College of Radiology.
The Vue RIS also has specialized auditing and tracking functions for mammography exams that enable organizations to become MQSA certified without the need for a separate MIS. RIS management tools also provide profitability rates for each modality, patient wait times and volumes by modality or location and the ability to examine imaging workflows to eliminate bottlenecks or unnecessary tasks.
