Carestream Demos New DBT Features

Article

Carestream to demo new capabilities to its digital breast tomosynthesis module at RSNA 2014.

Carestream at RSNA 2014 will highlight new capabilities to its digital breast tomosynthesis (DBT) module.

New features include a DBT image map, improved workflow settings, and the display of DICOM-compliant 2D synthetic views calculated from the 3D dataset, Carestream said. The use of 2D synthetic views is an alternate approach that can help reduce the need for additional imaging exams and still allow for the benefits of DBT, Carestream said.

Carestream will debut a work-in-progress feature that allows the user to adjust the slab thickness of a tomosynthesis series. This capability, Carestream said, has reportedly been helpful for radiologists by helping visualize calcifications and may decrease reading time.

The Carestream Vue Mammo Workstation can display DBT exams from a variety of DICOM-compliant acquisition devices.
